Tips for Teams in a Paintball Tournament

If you love paintball, but have never participated in a Paintball Tournament, together with your very own Paintball Team at a Paintball Park, then you really have missed out on something great. Conventional paintball tournaments usually involve three kinds of games which are to be played. The first one involves you returning back to a similar game all of us have played in our childhood, which is Capture the Flag. The second one is the Center Flag. The third one is X-ball, which is a new game. Adopting the right strategies in all these games can really help you succeed and become the winner.

Capture the Flag is basically about capturing the flag of your opponent team, and returning back to your team’s station with the flag itself. This format is very popular in woodsball. Also, teams gain extra points in some games for completely blowing out their opponents with a few team members remaining. The number of players in a team in a tournament can vary between 3 and 20. The number of members in each team would depend on the event, and the maximum number of players allowed. Many tournaments these days usually allow only small teams which play on a grass field with bunkers all over. Center Flag, which is the second stage, is very much like Capture the Flag.

Center Flag is different from Capture the Flag in the manner that the flag is placed at a neutral position rather then in the opponent team’s flag station. To win this stage, teams need to capture the flag placed in the center position and carry it to the designated point. Usually this point is the opponent team’s starting point. Usually 3, 5 or 7 players can participate in Center Flag.

X Ball is a more complicated version of Center Flag. It involves two opposing teams that have to play against each other till the game’s time finishes. The points depend on how many center flags each time is able to capture, and the game usually lasts for 50 minutes, therefore teams have 50 minutes to capture the maximum number of flags. The game is split into two halves, and only 5 players are allowed to participate in this stage, and each player can be substituted after scoring each point.

There are some strategies that will help you achieve your target without any difficulty, and will make a huge difference on the outcome of the game. To be a successful team in any tournament, you should always fire back on your opponents with as much energy as you can. Do not give your opponent the chance to attack your team, and attack them instantly. If you start rushing and running around, while the other team is attacking you, start firing back with even more ferocity. This way the opponent team will be left bewildered and you will restrict their attack strategy.

Communication between team members is very important, and you need to remain in touch with all team members at all times. This way, you all will be continuously be updated about each other’s location and also the opponents’ locations. If your team member is ready to attack, then give him protection, by distracting members of your enemy team. You can take advantage of the fact that your face will be covered with a mask through out the game. Also, prepare yourself to use either hand for shooting and using your gun.

Study the Paintball Park and Venue together with your Paintball Team before the competition. These tips will really help you gain success the next time you participate in a Paintball Tournament.
